This project focused on user accounting in BlobSeer to improve the security and the detection of malicious behavior, abnormal or suspicious activity. We defined a trust level for each user as the probability that the user is harming the storage system. We use this trust level to develop a complex system which rewards the fair users and restricts the activities of the malicious ones. As a consequence, when security alerts corresponding to suspicious behavior occur, the system automatically takes appropriate actions (i.e., ban the client or revoke some of its access rights, according to some predefined policy).
